The Wild Man
When Enkidu is created from clay he is described as the primeval man, the animal-like man. He lives alongside the wild animals and only communicates with them in the wilderness. A hunter chances upon him and brings back this news to the city. It is then that a woman is sent to seduce and beguile Enkidu, to leave his wild existence and join Gilgamesh as an equal companion in the city.
